Wow, I guess time got away from me and suddenly two months have gone by since I last blogged. Here's the quick update: we are now down to 3 months or so before Norm comes home from the Middle East, it's a week and a half until my trip to NYC, and I've lost about 10 pounds. It's not the 20 I was hoping for, but I still have a few days and at least I've lost some. I feel good about it!
So as I mentioned, I go to New York City in a little over a week, and I'm so excited!! My plans, or most of them anyway, seem to involve eating my way through the city. I will be eating dinner one night at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. I've eated at a Bobby Flay restaurant before and it was fantastic! Norm and I went to Bar Americain last time we were in NY and I loved the steak I had. I'm going to be a little more adventurous this time, though, with the food I eat. I'm ready to try some new stuff.
I normally don't really mind doing stuff alone. I go to movies alone and eat at a diner alone. But there's something about being in the city and eating on my own in a fancy celebrity chef restaurant that is intimidating to me. My friend Maggie said I should take a notebook with me and take notes as well as pictures as I eat. Maybe people will think I'm a food critic or food blogger, and they'll treat me extra-special!! It's a silly idea, but I may do it anyway.
On another note, a friend of mine, Janie, is writing a book. And she asked me to edit it for her. I was surprised when she asked, and I didn't think I was qualified. I've read the book three times now, and we met last week to discuss my thoughts. It's really good, and I had so much fun editing! I think I may have found a new passion. How fun would it be to be an editor??
